My 2019 Christmas Gift Guide

Call it a gift guide, call it a wishlist, I figured that this year I would finally get round to doing an overview of all the amazing things I’ll be adding to a shopping cart this year!
Christmas always sits funny with me, I generally yo yo between hating it and adoring it. I love the cosy, sparkly comforting bit, I love the way it makes people take time to catch up with each other and show that they care, but I hate the pressure for it all to be perfect, the need to spend beyond our means and the insane waste that it inevitably all brings.
So that said, I’ve tried to collect together my favourite, sustainable gifts with minimal packaging, supporting as many local Welsh brands as possible, that will encourage you and any lucky recipients to live a little greener this Christmas and well into 2020.

I initially broke this EPIC list up by gender but instead I’ve opted for personality traits because really there’s nothing worse than a gift that stereotypes instead of acknowledging the very real person receiving it. So sit back, enjoy and let’s do some more mindful shopping…

STOCKING FILLERS FOR EVERYONE

Cole & Co Nadolig Llawen Soaps £1-4
These smell incredible and are perfect for quite a lot of things this Christmas, pop the mini ones on the pillows of any house guests, set the dinner table with them instead of crackers for an extra dinner table treat or pop them in as a good old fashioned stocking filler!

Thought Bamboo Christmas Socks From £5.95
I know it’s corny and predictable but who doesn’t love a fresh pair of socks at Christmas? These bamboo numbers from Thought are just so much fun, choose from snowflakes, baubles, figgy pudding AND SO MANY MORE.

Bamboo Toothbrush £4
For many it’s the first step on the ladder into a life of more sustainable choices, and even if someone is already a convert, who doesn’t need a spare?! You can pick these up everywhere now but I’ve popped a link to the lovely independent PlasticFreedom to make life easy!

Laser Cut Wooden Badges £6

We all need to reduce our carbon footprints, but thankfully there are also amazing people now helping to offset our average use. Thanks to Organic Basics you can cancel out an individual or a families carbon impact for 3-6 months. All money goes to Chooose to fund CO2 reducing projects in developing countries.

Holland & Barrett Mini Panettone £1.29
I always like adding some food items to stockings (present opening is a hungry business) so besides the traditional satsuma this year I’ll be adding these offerings from H&B. They’ve created these suuuper cute vegan miniature Panettones to enjoy with your morning Christmas coffee. One for them, one for meeee!
