Spring is here and as the weather turns, the flowers pop out and thoughts turn to the annual clear out. I love the new energy this time of year brings, its a chance to simplify, to leave behind things that no longer serve you and to maybe rediscover the things that do. For me Spring cleaning becomes Spring CLEANSING as I ruthlessly go through everything from my wardrobe, to home decor, books, dvds and of course beauty products!
It’s so easy to collect products throughout the year, especially post Christmas and before you know it you’ve got 4 mascaras, 3 moisturisers, and more facemask packets than you can feasibly use!
So today as we move into a season that is all about feeling fresh I’m focusing on a routine that is simple and effective, it’s about high nutrition and minimal steps that brighten and balance my skin so I can embrace more barefaced days. Let’s see what’s in my beauty bag to see which products made the cut this Spring…
Smoothing Cleanser £16
My hero product that I could not be without, fresh, creamy and uplifting. It melts away my makeup, and feels like an indulgent spa treat every day. It’s luxurious but not greasy, and massaging this in at the end of a day is just a DREAM. Green tea extract acts to detox and purify your skin whilst jojoba and sweet almond oils balance your complexion. You will never regret having one of these in your bathroom, it is a must have. Plus it always comes with a beautifully soft bamboo cloth to steam it all away afterwards, if there was only one self-care ritual I could have, it would be this.
Skin Feast £26
This moisturiser is GORGEOUS, it is packed with 20 plant and flower extracts meaning it quite literally feeds your skin a FEAST of goodness to brighten, nourish and hydrate. Two small pumps of this morning and night works wonders for my skin, it has a super thick texture which feels so indulgent and a little goes a long way, this bottle normally lasts me about 4 months!
Pure Lagoon Blemish Prevention Serum £42
This serum joined my collection just 6 months ago and has very quickly become a firm favourite it glides on like water, is lightweight and sooo refreshing leaving your skin feeling clean and bright. Perfect if you want to step away from heavier oil based potions as we get ready for the warmer weather. It gets it amazing colour from Blue Spirulina and Malachite extract which work to not only make it the most stand out item on your shelves, but to soothe and reduce inflammation, and I love that it also contains prebiotics and bioflavonoids which boost the skins natural defenses reducing the chances of blemishes occuring. Again we are all about food for your skin, it is our biggest organ after all and it deserves the best.
Clear Skin Face Mask £20
Where would we be without a #facemaskfriday? (A tradition try to instill with all my gorgeous customers) this pot of green goodness is always a winner but at this time of year I love it for it’s hit of vitamins and deep cleansing properties. Green clay and spirulina work to draw out toxins whilst bamboo charcoal and goji berry extract calms any redness leaving you looking bright and blemish free! Use it as a spot treatment, all over clay mask, or even as a face wash once a week. Multi functional, and super effective this is my most used mask treatment
Eye Work Rejuvenating Serum £28
If you loved our old eye roll on then you neeeeeed to try our Eye Work. A cooling gellish cream uses vitamin C and turmeric to lighten dark circles and anti-inflammatories like coffee cherry to reduce puffiness. Perfect for making you look brighter this Spring.
Nourishing Hair Cleanser £18
This is my absolute favourite hair product from the Tropic range, it smells DIVINE. Think summer holidays, pina coladas and spa days in the sun! In terms of self care rituals this is very much like our Smoothing Cleanser but for your head. It is rich and creamy (non-foaming), and can be bought with a Scalp Massager allowing you to gently cleanse your entire scalp whilst stimulating hair growth and massaging alllll the tension of the day away. I love using mine as a conditioning treatment all over my head or just on the tips once or twice a week to prolong my hair colour and help restore breakage. And if I’m really honest I just love being transported (for a few minutes) to a tropical beach far farrr away.
