CHECKING IN: The Swan Inn, Bridgenorth

A whirlwind Christmas celebration and it was time for the final minibreak of the year and a festive wedding in the gorgeous countryside around Bridgenorth in the Midlands. We found a blissful B&B at The Swan Inn with roll tops baths, cosy hot waterbottles, a beautiful bar downstairs and an airy sun room to relax in over breakfast looking out on frosty rolling hills.

Nestled into the countryside it’s an easy drive to local towns Telford and Shrewsbury as well as being a fab spot to explore the Shropshire hills.

We had decided on two nights here, and I’m so glad we did, it felt like such an escape, perfect after the chaos of Christmas and the best place to rest after dancing the night away at the wedding reception. Breakfast was strong with a fantastic menu and cereal buffet area to help yourselves too, although not a huge amount of options for those plantbased visitors, we thoroughly enjoyed mushrooms on toast with fresh tea and orange juice each morning as the sun came up.

The thought behind the decor and details are so homey and comforting, whilst still staying stylish, the bed was super comfortable and that bath!! Once we got over the shock that there wasn’t a shower, we embraced washing the old fashioned way with the jug provided and a long hot soak, Christmas G&T in hand!

If you are in this neck of the woods I would thoroughly recommend a stay here, friendly staff and a bargain price, starting from £75/night
