Wild & Wild, Cheshire’s Best Cafe as voted by the 2019 Cheshire Life Food & Drink Awards. If that doesn’t warrant a reason to visit, then settle in, I’m about to give you a whole lotta reasons why you need to get yourselves down to this beautiful independent coffee shop.
Standing tall on the high street of Cheshire town, Congleton you’ll find this award winning plantbased cafe, putting speciality coffee, community, and heart at the forefront of what they do.
I first visited this gorgeous gem early this year, having spent several months stalking them on Instagram, and had just never having quite enough time up north to squeeze a visit in. Now I can’t imagine going to Cheshire and not calling in. Walk through the doors and you’ll find gorgeous decor, a super chilled out vibe, smiling staff and the most beautiful display of cakes you’ll ever see. Think technicolor, edible flowers and chocolate mousse in martini glasses..!
So with my lovely mum in tow to celebrate her birthday we settled in for a FEAST. Creamy Matcha lattes with Peppermint, the best Roobios tea you’ve ever had and a protein bowl that even when shared between us left us pretty stuffed! Peashoots, marinated tempeh, sweet potato, curried chickpeas and what I can only describe as the dreamiest garlic aioli. My favourite kind of meal. Oh and of course a basket of perfect fries on the side.
But it didn’t stop there, seconds meant waffles! See this is the problem when everything on the menu looks amazing, it’s really really quite difficult to only order one thing. Thankfully kids portions are afforded to adults too so I could sneak in one perfect oat and chia waffle covered in coconut flakes and raspberry caramel sauce before bursting!
So, have I got your attention? Anyone else want to road trip just for the menu? Well, it doesn’t stop there. Because if the epic food and coffee wasn’t enough to get you in the mood to visit Wild & Wild then here’s a few more reasons to fall in love with this family run business…
THERE’S A YOGA STUDIO UPSTAIRS!! Ahem, sorry. So as well as running one of my favourite foodie spaces on the ground floor, take those steps two at a time and you’ll find a little piece of blissed out heaven. There is a lounge to relax in for a quiet moment, so you can curl up with a book and get comfy on the couch, and opposite you’ll find a peaceful studio with macrame wall hangings and rose quartz scattered around, filling the space with love.
There’s an events calendar to put any community space to shame celebrating mindfulness, spiritual connection, positive mental health and community. There’s hypnobirthing, pilates, sound baths, yoga, and visiting workshops with the likes of the Dirty Vegan and the Eat Happy Coach.
And to top it off, you can see the weekend in in styyylle. Grab a cocktail, or a glass of wine and settle in on Friday or Saturday nights. Kick back after work, chill with some friends and in August take in the very best of the Jazz Festival with gigs across the Bank Holiday weekend.
So, who’s in? Totally worth the 4 hour drive from Cardiff every damn time. (I’ll do a Cheshire weekend round up soon so you can make a weekend of it)
